Monza: A Legendary Circuit Steeped in Speed and Tradition
For over a century, Monza has been a fixture on the Formula 1 calendar. In 2026, the “Temple of Speed,” as it’s lovingly called, will host the 97th edition of the Italian Grand Prix.
This iconic circuit is synonymous with history, speed, and adrenaline, drawing some of the biggest names in motorsport.
The Autodromo Nazionale di Monza became the third permanent racetrack in the world when it was completed in 1922. Known as the fastest circuit in Formula 1®, drivers often reach speeds over 350 km/h on its long straights and push their engines to full power for nearly 75% of the lap.
These astonishing speeds make the Italian Grand Prix the shortest race in the entire F1 calendar.

The 97th edition of the F1 Italian Grand Prix 2026 will be the 15th race of the 2026 World Championship. The event will take place at Monza’s 5.793 km circuit with the following schedule:
– Friday, September 4, 2026: Free Practice
– Saturday, September 5, 2026: Free Practice & Qualifying
